For 17 years, I wrote in a variety of traditional forms. I gradually became interested in pursuing a new direction, and, in the early 90's, I began exploring the appropriation of text and the rearrangement of text into non-linear sequences. I went on to originate 12 genres of literature, each of which became successively more and more visually oriented.
In 2003, it was a significant step for me when I transitioned from producing text for the page to producing text for the large-scale page or "canvas". This has resulted in my creating a new media genre that I call "Alphanumeric Painting" or "Exhibition Literature."
